Anyone who watched last years Grand Parade at Burwarton Show may remember a little Holstein heifer kicking her heels as she put on a show of her own by deciding to streak across the ring sans handler.
The little miss is Mawley Ric Lady (Red). This was her second outing to Burwarton having been shown the previous year (2014) and winning her section as a calf. She is an eye catching young lady with a lovely friendly disposition, if a little excitable when given the limelight (see the amusement on the faces of the handlers of the impeccably behaved Herefords in the background?!).
She is currently safely tucked up in the calving pen as we eagerly await the birth of her first calf in the next few days. She will be monitored closely and it we hope all goes smoothly with Mother Nature taking its course. Fingers crossed for a heifer calf who has the same show ring presence as it mum! Updates to follow (watch this space!)
